Protecting Planet Earth
On June 6, 2012, Hartford Seminary, the Hartford Public Library, Charter Oak Cultural Center and the Conference of Churches presented the third in a series of panel discussions on Poverty, Peace and Planet Earth.
Speakers at the panel discussion, on Protecting Planet Earth, were:
- The Rev. Thomas Carr, Co-Chair, Interreligious Eco-Justice Network
- Yahya Michot, Ph.D., Professor of Islamic Studies and Christian-Muslim Relations, Hartford Seminary
- Rabbi Andrea Cohen-Kiener, author “Claiming Earth as Common Ground”
- Dr. Mark Mitchell, President, Mitchell Environmental Health Associates, Hartford
The idea of the series came from Bob Edgar, President of Common Cause, who says that each of us must step up “with an interfaith courageous commitment to address peace, poverty and Planet Earth."
