Dr. Amy-Jill Levine's Book Selected for Prestigious Award

The book The Pharisees, co-edited by Dr. Amy-Jill Levine, HIU's Rabbi Stanley M. Kessler Distinguished Professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies, has been selected to receive a 2023 BAS Publication Award in the category “Best Book on the New Testament.” Dr. Levine edited the book with Rev. Dr. Joseph Sievers, who serves as professor of Jewish history and literature of the Hellenistic Period at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome.

Warm Soles, Warm Hearts: MAP Students Devote Time to Footwear with Care Event

Collaborating with Fleet Feet, Hartford Healthcare, Bloomfield Foot Specialists, House of Bread, Hartford Police Department, The B.E.R.E.A.D.Y. Project, and numerous dedicated volunteers, five students from HIU's Master of Arts in International Peacebuilding (MAP) program helped distribute winter boots, addressing an often overlooked essential need in colder months.

Strikes and Stories: International Students Experience Duckpin Bowling

At about two months into their year-long residential peacebuilding program, some of our international students experienced bowling for the first time. They only knew about bowling through phone apps or movies. Even though some bowling alleys are available in their countries, it is not a popular pastime.
